Quite a few years ago now my first car was an old VW polo (mk2 I think).

Anyhew, the front tyre blew out on the way to my A-Level Physics exam!!

all owners of 944 with spacesaver spare wheels ought to take note of this as the tyres are possibly over 20 years old by now, and have been stored in the boot with the sidewalls folded over which can't be good for them, worth thinking about !

Yes I have thought about that and always carry a couple of cans of tyre inflator(tyre weld or something) which I would rather use than the spare although only to get me to a tyre dealers.Anythings preferable to changing an offside on the hard shoulder!

I hadn't thought about the spare tyre. :|
Enough to think about trying to ensure the car moves properly without worrying about when it stops working or something goes wrong.
