As I opened the drivers side door yesterday, the drivers side door mirror flew off and smashed. Probably due to the heat over the last few days?

Having looked at the surface where the mirror sat, it looks like there are heating elements in there. Thats rules out a cheap Halfords plastic mirror fix I feel.

I Googled around for mirrors yesterday and came across this

http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod5146/ ... -944/#5146

and this

http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/acatalog/p ... #a4_215351.

Does anyone know where I may be able to source these cheaper?

Also, bearing in mind I think these are heated wing mirrors (I may be wrong) is there anything else I need to take into account?

What do I use to attach the mirror to the surface? Any special adhesive?

Thanks for the offers folks. I am interested in buying mirrors which cover the blind spot. If any of you have those, feel free to send me a pm. Otherwise its going have to be ebay for me.

Also, am beginning to doubt if I have heated mirrors. But not sure how to tell for sure.

There is a zig zag of sorts in part of the area behind where the mirror use to sit which I thought may be heating elements. (See image attached) But I could be completely wrong about this?

Can any one advise if these are heated mirrors or not?

Thanks in advance folks.

easiest way to check for heated mirrors would be to pop the glass out and look for wires that connect to the back of the glass. Glass removal depends on the age of the car, if a later one then you'll need to poke a small screwdriver into the hole at the bottom of the mirror and slide the plastic clip over (there are a few notches in the bottom of it) which will release the glass.

If an early car then they're effectively just held in with 3 push style clips and if mine are anything to go by some not very effective glue once it's been on there for a few years.
