Either get a known good one from a running car from Porsche-apart or you could try a new one from JMG.
Make sure the one you have is gapped properly as they are all different lengths & if it's too far away it won't work. Also check the wiring loom & plugs to the sensor as they fail sometimes. Had to replace part of the engine wiring loom on mine. Good luck. :)

The part number is 944 606 170 02, same for S and S2. You cannot change the gap on the cam sensor. Also worth sending sulzeruk a pm, he's often got spares.

Apologies. Read Crank sensor for Cam sensor!

Dear All,

Finally today, I decided to remove the aftermarket alarm and immobiliser, dispite several people saying it works o.k, I thought better of it, low and behold she fired up, wey hey........ it ran like crap, but now it will fire i'll drain the fuel and hopefully that will help.
Thank you all for your endless time and help, special thanks to Bertelli and Peanut, I would have been lost without you.

I am sure this wont be the last you hear from me, but at least it is easier to get out of the garage now.

Once again, many thanks

Stu
