Finally got the 944 i bought last week fired up yesterday
http://forums.tipec.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=10643 . Admittedly its only running on two cylinders but i've bought a couple of replacement fuel injectors off of e bay so this should get all four firing again . Unfortunately delivery is 6 - 8 days so its on with trying to sort the electrical gremlins in the meantime . I currently have 4 potentially failed electric motors - headlights , boot release , front and rear wipers . The front wipers dont work on any speed and having checked the connections at the motor with a multi meter they appear to be getting a current when switched on . I've now removed the suspected failed motor and attempted to test it by putting 12v across it . I attached the green wire on the motor to the + ve connections on the car battery and connected the earth wire / casing of the motor to the - ve terminal of the car battery . The motor did not rotate . Is this the correct way to bench (or in this case boot) test an electric motor and is it proof that the motor is knackered ? I looked at clarkes guide for testing the headlight motor and they said to use the green wire for +ve but not sure if this is always the case for electric motors or indeed whether i should have jumped straight from the car battery
