Having just got a '86 924S to replace my '87 924S I was very surprised to find no rear seat belts.
No problem I thought - just get the garage to take them out of my old car and fit them in my new one.
After having my car for a week they have just rung me to tell me that there are no mounting points for the inertia reals in the 86. Yet there are mounting points for the stalks.
Is this true? Has anyone else come across this? And if so, what did they do?

Thanks

I assume you mean 86 & 87!

Rear belts were compulsory in the UK from aug 86, even earlier in some markets, so it must have mounting points.

My car was first registered 01/08/86 (OK it wasn't 96 as I previously stated - just testing ;) ) but according to http://www.rospa.com/roadsafety/advice/ ... istory.htm seat belts weren't a legal requirement on new cars until 1987. I'm still VERY suprised that I don't even have fittings for them though :(

Yup thinking back you're right. August 87, but cars had mounting points long before that, into the early 70's.

OK - found out today that it has the fittings for static s/belts just not inertia ones. So got one fitted - not ideal but OK.
