Photos will be posted tomorrow, very interesting on the dash lights as yes they are very dim and can't be seen in half light.

started getting used to the car on roads I know and thoroughly enjoying it, very tight ride and handling, interior lovely, but a leak in Targa top rear nearside corner needs sorting, a few drips came in when being cleaned and by the time I got to the place to take some pictures it was all dirty again from the roads today.

Car is great, need to get the clock in and oil sender as well as arm rest fixed next weekend and ill have a go getting the nearside headlight outer all squared up against the body.

Had great birthday bash in Edinburgh just as shame about the NZ score.

Thinking of chipping thoughts please. Promax or fleabay chip deals?.

You can just replace the bulbs for high power leds. or use a led string. Easier & more effective. The perspex degrades & theres not much you can do with the originals.

The usual reason for such leaks is blocked drain holes - there's one on each corner. Don't stick anything too hard down there as it may push off the rubber tube.

There's lots of info on here about sunroof leaks.

He has already sourced a new LCD rolex.

As 4 the drain holes in the sun roof. Remove the sun roof. ( we ant had this question yet!) I used strimer wire, once though, tied one knot and pulled though again. But only one don't try two, it will get stuck! As 4 the petrol filler cap side, I disconnected the Y joction,( which can be found behind the carpet near the rear seat belt ) and cleaned the tubes independently. MIT be worth doing the drain holes in the front bay near the fuse box and similar place on the other side as well.

As 4 chips? Didn't jj go with u 2 collect this car? Don't let him hear you talking about them, could end ur friend ship lol

Start off removing the heater controls, you can get to the 2 screws at the RHS of the dash strip, then remove the triangle cover at the RHS (passenger door open), turn the grill in the dash strip and the strip and clock should come out, but be careful as they are very brittle and will crack/break very easily

many thanks, growing list of jobs both car and domestic now for the weekend.

just took it on quick work thrash for an hour, felt lovely, 2nd and 3rd gear superb, but it pulls really well in 4th and 5th. But still not getting 1st to 2nd quite right.

engine is superb, very free revving and the throttle response is fast, you can tell its a N/A engine not a turbo.

Brakes are almost to good, struggling with heal and towing as on the roads to get to the throttle you have to break far to hard to reach to throttle peddle if that's what you call it on these as it looks and feels a tad different to other cars.

All in all v v chuffed some work going on at garage this Friday, thorough check over, and oil pressure sender, then i'l spend some time this weekend fixing the leak, sorting the clock, which arrived today and then getting the middle storage lid sorted.

After all this maybe I will have some time to give the engine bay a clean and have a look at the body with a wash.

pictures a few days away but have found them of old RAM SC.

thanks for the input on the few jobs I have identified.

Fife

I do Healys & MG's. Thats how it all started & in that order. My farter had a Healey 3000 & I used to pass him the spanners. Went on to MG's when the Healey rusted away. :(

well after the snow and now the thaw, i took the porsche out for a drive last night.

had to change out the battery (new one purchased top brand 64amp cranking current £55 inc delivery) as the battery would not turn over the engine. Didn't take too long in the dark, but I found the boot is leaking as the carpet is wet. Battery was longer than the old one so now on the maximum clamp length in the boot, interestingly only approx 300g heavier.

excellent drive on wet roads, good manners but had some sliding and rear wheel spin, but a lot of ice still around.

heater was fine and all behaved very nicely after 10 days covered in snow

- I really must tidy out the garage.
