Quick question - would this kit represent a good (value for money) upgrade for a regular use s2 or are there better options in the same price range? It's on Ebay for £600 from Spax Direct which is cheaper than Promax it would seem. Really just looking for opinions to help me decide how I could spend next years budget. Cheers.

I got a cheaper price for them from europerformance. They had them in stock and I was offered free next day delivery. They wanted to get rid of them as spax are bringing the new ones out soon apparently. I went for the gaz kit in the end. I didn't read great reviews about the spax if I'm honest but I don't know anybody with them so don't know for sure.
Rich.

Did you go for these?

http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/product_info.mhtml?product=555605524

v interested in how you find them as I am going to sort the handling on mine as engine is well not going to get much better, so spend money elsewhere to improve its general road manners.

Rich, how much did u pay? U set them
Up urself didn't you?

Iv been quoted £800 by bubble and kick racing 2 sirpily and fit gaz adjustable coilovers. Conner balancing and 4 wheel alinement. As I'm well over due a rack rebuild now, thinking about replacing all the rubber bushes in the roll bars and wishbones. Iv also got some rear roll bar adjustable drop links 2 fit as well. There also offering 2 deal with these issues. A rack rebuild has came in cheap at £100 and replace front wishbones bushes with poly bushes, removed crack tested, acid strip, lacquered or power Coated, £250 and £100 2 do the same with the roll bars.

I paid 575 for a second hand set, yeah easy to fit and they've made massive difference, feels like a new car. I've still got to get the torsion bar re indexed and wheel alignment and camber done which will prob come to around £400 anyway, but most of that would be the re indexing labour. Depending on how low you want it really, you might not need the bar done. Mines pretty much slammed. I've got the front so with the wheel off the springs are just taking the tension, it is pretty low at the front but I've had no problems with speed bumps or bottoming out. Not a thing. I've got the rear trailing arms set as low as they go, the height is ok but doing that throws out the alignment and camber, the rear springs clang over big bumps but once the bars done I'll be able to put more tension on the springs.
But I am well happy with the kit. Money well spent.
Rich.

I will get it lowered, but cas iv got a front spliter fitted, my car is loweron the front and dose scrap the floor now and then, but my spring are prob very soft, so I hoping stiffer spring will get it lower without troble. Bubble and kick are one off gaz sirpplers so I think iv been offer the kit 4 close 2 £600

I think the SPAX kits are great value.

On my 968 Coupe the rears were uprated shocks and on my current CS I have rear coilovers (developed by SPAX using my car). They have totally transformed the car.

Bought the first set from Silverstone tuning.

Yeah that's them but I phoned them and the guy was going to do me a deal as I originally phoned for a price on koni adjustable shocks all round and cos they want to get rid of the stock he matched the price with this kit and was going to throw in free next day. It was something like £560.

I really would recommend the gaz gold kit though. Although obviously I haven't tried the others.
Rich.

The guys at Silverstone tuning should be able to send you schematics.

I have had Spax RSX on my S2 for about 9 months now - I can't comment on other manufacturers but these replaced the originals which had done 140k and it made a massive difference - feels like a new car.

They are quite hard though - mine are on the 'soft side' of halfway - stiffer at the front then the back (about 50/40) - as I use the car on the road only this suits me fine - I was at about 60/50 and this was too 'crashy' over joints in the road etc
