on my 81 924 i have a headlight problem.
no sign of fault beforehand.

when switching on the lights all lights come on except the headlights, the lights raise and lower fine but no light.

there are no fuses out.
there is no relay where the manual says there should be, in its place is a pin bridging points 1 and 3.
i do not know if this is factory fitted or been done later. in the many years of driving the car there has been no problems with the lights.

anyone know the part number for a headlight relay on a 924 ?

any help ?

I would check the wires for fraying/splitting at the back of the headlight unit. All those years of flexing as the lights go up and down can take their toll. Mine had split right at the point that the loom comes out of the chassis, it was a real P.I.T.A to repair properly

I would check the wiring. Had a problem were my full beem would turn the light out completely. If u remove the bulb fitting there a connector plug. Part it and check that's the wiring is working. If its not at fualt will be further down the line.

Could be your column switch. If the switch is unplugged you get that scenario. The column switch went on my oval dash 944 and when fiddling I noticed if you put the lights on with the switch unplugged the lights raise, sides come on but no beam from the raised lights.

after much checking and inspection, i tried a spare headlight switch and that solved the problem.
i did not expect it to be the switch as all the other functions of the switch worked fine, you live and learn.
