HI All,

Been having some odd intermittent problems with my wipers on my 2.7 944
I seem to have 3 speeds for normal wiping (slow, fast and very fast) and when pushing the lever down, intermittent.
Then there is the wash wipe function.

Now sometimes I can get all of these to work when needed, other times I only have the two faster speeds and must manage the wiping process manually. A bit annoying.

Sometimes intermittent workd fine, other times it just stops after a few spaced wipes.

I suspect a poor series of contacts in the switch or poor earth or poor relay connections.

Anyone experienced this and/or recommend other places to start to investigate?

Thanks
Ian

I've never had the problem you're having, however after taking the steering wheel off the machanism fell to bits. Got a second hand one of Sulzeruk on this forum and it was 2 minutes to fit. I remember it had all VW numbers on it.

Thanks - I think I'll have a nosy at the switch unit and see if that is the problem first.

Be careful, it's full of springs and small screws and it is not easy to put back together. Which is why I got another one.

I have the same issue with mine for about 6 months now and have never got to the bottom of it. Seems to me like the motor does not have the power to move the wipers on slow speed. Slow speed works best when there is heavy rain and the window is very wet. My problem first occurred a couple of weeks after putting Rain-X on. Seems to be starting to get better by itself as time goes on. Will be interested to see how you sort yours.

Mike

There's a speed resitour swhich 2 the left off the fogs? Could this affected it at All? I only have 3 speeds on mine, and neather has a pause. Up .. Down .. Up .. Down or up. down. up. down. Or up down up down up  That's starting with the lever level with the indecatour. Below the indecatour is washer jets 4 pop up head lights.

Just 2 add my speed adjustment is disconceted, need 2 find which wire it is.
