I didn't notice the luggage cover was caught under the seats when I put them back up into place, and as I pulled it it ripped in the middle. It ripped easily because the fabric is old, faded, and worn - well beyond a simple stitch-up repair. I can tell what sort of fabric I need because the two 'pockets' (the bits that unclip and I assume are to cover the luggage if you fold the seats down) are like new - and a completely different shade of grey.

Where do you get the fabric from to make a new one?

Has anybody made a new one out of another suitable fabric?

Thank you.

You might be able to get it from Southbound Trimmers as they seem to have a lot of the Porsche interior trim materials, but I doubt that it will be cheap!

It will NOT be cheap, they wanted over a grand to supply new covers for my Recaro pole position seats in the Turbo S (Same seats as the 964 RS) that was supply only !
Fitting is a doddle :? :)

I was quoted £2350 by them to recover my 928 seats.

There was one on Ebay for £125 - and it will be just as worn as mine was. The rest are the roller-blind type. My wife and daughter took me to this place - http://www.abakhan.co.uk/ - where I bought some poly-cotton canvas so that we could make our own using the old one as a template. It cost £3. At the moment the original cover is stripped down and the aluminium rods and elastics taken out. We're trying to find the trim for the edge, until then we're stuck. The lady at the sewing shop says the best place to get the trim is the market, so I have to wait until Wednesday.

If I knew how to put photos up I could post some 'sewing' photos - including the steering wheel that I did last weekend. Four hours and some very sore fingers!

Got the trim and the job is finished - looks great. We didn't bother putting the extra flaps on that cover luggage if the back seats are down.

Hi
does anyone know where I can get the fittings that go on the seats. I've got a luggage cover but no fittings. Even what they look like as I may be able to make something up.
thanks
Glen

The spring blind has to be screwed to the back of a one piece rear seat - no good if you have split seats.

I think those two things just hang down to protect the material on the backs of the split seats.
