I have a clonk on slight left and right hand turns that is sometimes noisier and sometimes not.This has steadily got more apparent since a transmission replacement 12 months ago.Is it possible that it could be related to the rear end of the torx tube connection on the splines?
I just wonder if anybody else has had any problems with this,I have checked the driveshafts and they appear to be ok(not the clicking type noise you would experience)

You have checked all your bushes? When I had this it turned out to be the front roll bar drop links had cracked.

Wouldnt have thought so, if that wasnt tight you'd lose drive under hard acceleration.

Check the gearbox mount and cross member this bolts to are tight.

Is the noise coming from the back?

yes coming from rear..seems like more rhr to centre

As Ive said on the PCGB thread - torque (Torx is a type of fastener) tube bearings do wear. When you have ruled out everything else, then this is likely to be the cause. Its a big piece of engineering, but they seldom fail on 931/944s, so they dont sell for very much. Try Paul at PHSportscars if you need one. Itll be cheap and theyre only just up the A38.
