Slight delay iive been to a museum in Cambridge today . Force you to use the park and ride to avoid traffic jams and guess what we sat in on the bus ? yeahhh traffic jams. Anyway I digress :P

The master and slave cyliners have been replaced and a pipe in between as well as removing the 'sludge' from the reservoir and I've seen it !. I think many people change their brake fluid but honestly who misses the clutch fluid ?. Bill for that £280 . Toni found a couple of tiny oil leak weeps includng by the oil pressure sender and these two have been rectified and some other bit i cant even remember bill £111. All seems very fair to me and he seems to be as I like thorough but not silly. I already new I needed to replace one of the fuel lines , another weeping fault at one end and I have ordered the pair in copper from a classic car specialist supplier , both lines for 87 pounds delivered. Toni will fit those next time. Still have the cambelt to do next time as well :P

Who said these cars were cheep lol not me

I'll pick her up tomorrow

Cheers Mas

Sounds about right, good job its all fixed now. I remember thinking the same when I saw what came out of my slave. Black as black could be but then it could have been 20 years old!

Those copper fuel lines seem quite expensive, unless they allow you to fit them without dropping the rear axle?

Just had genuine ones fitted to the 968 and I think that they were around £30 each, but they do require the axle to be dropped. I needed some rear suspension bushes replacing too, so got them done at the same time.

Hi,

Ain't that the truth. Collected mine today and was trying not to weep at the bill. Is it ok for a grown man to cry over such things??? :crybaby:

Ben :bounce:

You make me glad I do the work on mine myself.

bill for clutch master and slave cylinder + new flexi pipe is hovering somewhere around £150. Although I'm going to rebuild the master and I'm currently waiting for a slave that's not meant for a 911.

The downside of course is that I started fixing my clutch system before yours went wrong and I still don't have all the bits for it.

Helps a lot if you have a second car. Costed one out as mine will be off the road for 3 or 4 weeks which isn't good. But the insurance makes me weep. Can buy something reasonable for £600 with 12 months tax & test. (one litre shopping trolley.) But the insurance is another £400! More than the Porsche. Don't understand insurance. So thats a grand gone that could have been more profitably spent on the 944. :?

I went to pick up the car today and it had a fault that I didnt even take it in with , if I said I was upset at the time then that would be like saying the Falkland Islanders were slghtly irritated when the Argentinians popped by for coffee.

As a result I won't be writing about it until the matter is resolved
( and the car fixed and home) as I'm likely to type the truth ( as is my nature) if I explain it today.

My car is not back home , and I'm gong to miss out on a free rolling road session tomorrow woopie doo luck comes in threes doesnt it ?

Regards Mas
