I have had my 944 Lux Auto for about 5 years. A couple of years ago, the paintwork on the bonnet, front panel and the tops of the front wings started to flake off leaving an unsightly mess, so much so that on moving up to East Anglia some 18 months ago, when the first meeting of the re-launched area group took place at the Flying Fortress, I chose to attend driving my Mercedes C Class rather the face the humiliation!

Uncertain what to do for the best, I did nothing. The paintwork got worse, I SORN'd the poor thing and it has stood in my drive for well over a year, just being started occasionally to frighten the spiders in the engine bay.

Three weeks ago, I decided to do something about it. First a new battery and she fired immediately. Then insurance, some new wiper blades, a new MoT (front pads the only requirement to pass) and RFL and I was back on the road again.

The local small bodyshop that made a very nice job of some minor paint repairs to my Mercedes was entrusted with repainting the front of the 944. I got it back from them yesterday - it needs some detailing but I thought you might like to see her after a quick wash and some Xymol waxing.
