Can anyone help, I am currently wanting to lower the front end on my 86 944 lux by around 30mm, there are plenty of aftermarket springs on ebay for around £100 which claim to do just that, but I have been given a set of early 944 Turbo springs, which are the same diameter as my exsisting springs, and I was told by the person who gave them to me that they would do the job, but there are mixed opinions from several people, rather than spend hours fitting them to find no difference does anyone know if they will do what I want or am i wasting my time, as my car is an early 44 it does not have ajustable cups on the dampers like on the later cars, any advice appreaciated

Steve

I know the Turbo S spring are a good deal shorter than a standard Turbo spring but I don't know the difference betten those and a Lux spring>

I think it depends on the springs you have. Looking at the workshop manuals there are some turbo springs with a shorter free length than the Lux springs but others aren't and then there are different spring rates will change it all again.

I would have thought ther wouldn't be much difference though. The Turbo is 60kg heavier at the front than a Lux so would compress the same springs a fair bit more.

I just had mine done to 968 clubsport spec (springs with koni adjustables), i'm not sure how this compares to Turbo spec but it rides great and still goes over the many big speed bumps in Brussels without horrible scrapes!
