Due to my MOT success this morning, the lads at the garage pointed out that I will need new front brake pads soon, also rear discs and pads, and finally a passenger front headlight. So I would appreciate you lot out there to give me some advice on where initially to buy these bits or maybe a place that can supply and fit near my area..(Walsall). I apologize but I'm a 'newbie' to buying bits....

Cheers

Baz :glasses5:

Why? They're fine on mine, they came from Bert but shortly after he changed to Sebro only.

What I think 944 man means is that Zimmermann discs will get surface rust on quicker than other makes if the car isn't used regularly, which may cause the pads to stick to the discs. (I think thats right anyway?).

Matt.

Makes no difference, all discs are cast iron so they rust at the same rate. If you mean the hubs aren't painted then they aren't but that is 60 second job with an aerosol.

Because EVERYONE apart from you has found them to be poor in our applications. Jim; yours must be the only pair which havent rusted! :D . Sebro, ATE/Textar & Pagid are all excellent, and probably cheaper too!

My discs are Zimmerman & are good too! :? Painted mine before fitting. Had them fitted 2 winters working fine. Got mine from GSF with discount for Tipec membership. If this is a road car then get pads from Unipart. There just as good as Porsche (Have to be by law now.) And they cost me £15/axle set. Put them on at the same time as the discs & still lots of meat on them. They will stop you without fade from 130. There also soft enough not to destroy your discs.
