 Post subject: 944 Dodgy gearbox?

Found this comment on a US motor forum:


Worst gearbox: Porsche 944. God that thing was awful. Putting the shifter into each gate was like trying to stir a pot of molasses in the January cold.. :shock:

What do you reckon? Worn clutch or inability to operate a manual box?

I'm guessing he ( she / it ) drove a car with a badly worn rear gear linkage.

When I bought my car it had such a vague shift it was unreal, but thankfully I never let it put me off.
Someone I let drive it before the fix said the gear change was like stirring porridge... I wonder if it was the same guy :D .

American's should stick to auto boxes to give them a free hand to hold their burgers.
