Does anyone have a photograph of the exhaust back box heat shield? Ideally for a 944 s2 but I think a turbo and 968 have the same part.
I need to see the detail of the support bracket that is on the rearmost section - mine has all but dissolved due to rust and I need to see what I need to recreate as the rest of the shield in in surprisingly good shape other than some very minor pin holes.

The illustration on PET isn't clear enough and I've never seen that part come up for sale used and as I'm sure you all know its is an NLA item :(

My thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Well, as luck may have it, I have a unicorn spare in the cupboard. However, I'm 99.99% certain mine is for a turbo s only, as I went over the coals searching for a replacement a few years back. Finally got a decent 2nd hand one. It is indeed NLA, as are all variants I think.

Years later, when buying my new (to me) turbo s gearbox last year (from a very tidy fire damaged turbo s), I noticed a mint unicorn heat shield above it in the pictures. Vendor agree to throw it in with the sale.

I will take a couple of pictures if it helps you.

Edit to add - just got it out, no brackets on the turbo s one, just holes for bolts. Bracket must be a separate part, sorry!

Thanks for looking. :)

It's not shown on PET as a separate item so perhaps the back box heatshield is different? I was only surmising that the heatshield would be the same - part no for mine is: 944 503 137 00.

I've checked the photos I have on my phone & this bracket is spot welded to the heatshield. There is a single captive nut welded to this bracket and the machine screw that was in there I had to drill off the head as it had rusted solid and in trying to undo it, the paper thin rusted away metal has twisted all out of shape hence the need for the photo as I have no real idea of what the piece looks like in good condition!

Yes it's definitely different. No bracket and 2 x captive nuts on mine which I'm absolutely sure is a turbo s only part.

The one you want is on the S2 and 220BHP early turbo 85-88.
