Well since i am off work after having a small op, I decided to have a look at the passenger door mirror on my 44 to find out why it wasn't working.
After carefully removing the mirror i started to get stuck into stripping it down.....Then Dave came in and helped me out...On further inspection we noticed(well Dave did) that the pulley mechanism on the mirror had actually broken, so we had to find another way of fixing this. Well in the garage we found an old mirror from a different car(jap) so i gutted this down to get the mechanism of this out. Then Dave got stuck into making this fit into the mirror of the 44. I little tinkering later and the mirror was ready to go back in but then Dave decided he was gonna sort out the power to it so i left him to it(i aint big on electrical).

Anyway by 5:30 my car has a fully functional passenger mirror which now no longer views the floor. Now i have to find out what's wrong with the drivers one :D :D

Just wanted to share with you guys today's achievements I am sorry though no pics it was a kinda spur of the moment whilst i was at the garage

Firstly hope you're OK! Sounds like a good days work actually, more satisfying to fix things than just buy new bits & fit them.

Well that's what i am like to be honest. I aint afraid of getting hands dirty and getting stuck in.. I mean yesterday was a prime example. Dave took a not very good turbo off his car and put a new one on, so i decided to keep myself occupied i would strip the old one down.........And you know what i really enjoyed doing it too, but never built it back up didnt seem much point when it was goosed anyway

I am feeling a little better thanks Jim just keep getting a few twinges now and then but i should be fine i should be back to work next week

aint porsche mirror mechanisms crap! pully's and string, whats that all about?
good job we had an old MR2 mirror knocking around, hell its cheaper and better than the porsche equive. need to figure the wiring prooperly now it appears that only 2 wires from the 4 on the pork loom actually do something. and i need reverse power to run the mirror right.

If only 2/4 do anything it may just mean that your car was not optioned with heated mirrors?
