My 944 has no rear panel decal below the number plate. Does anybody know what colour should it be on a Copenhagen Blue car? Black, white, silver? I can't find any images of the rear of a similar coloured car to compare with.

Thanks.

Silver on dark coloured cars and black on light cars.

I've just gone with orange for mine.

I would do your research before buying one.

The OPC ones fit spot on, and IIRC a couple of sellers sell decals that are fine. However, quite a few are a little "off" at the bends ; they don't allow for the curvature or the rear 1/4 panels.

IIRC I paid around £30 for one from OPC ; I changed mine as it went in for Bodywork, but most aftermarket ones are between £7-15 from memory.

A couple of weeks back I rang my OPC and they wanted £54 for this sticker. I purchased one from design 911 via e bay for about £27 posted, fits a treat (but then I didn't fit it  )

After some paint work I never replaced the strip.

Now other drivers have to wander "what was that..."

It depends on the OPC; I would often call about 2 dealers, and got to know which would give decent prices. IME Porsche Sutton Colfield were generally OK and Solihull were actually reasonable on a few things. Mazda are the worst however! My local wanted £6 for a thermostat gasket and £45 for a thermostat. Coventry? £2.70 and £27, the same as MX-5 Parts. When I told my local Mazda dealer he refused to come down on price and just shrugged his shoulders saying "The price is what it is on the screen". Suffice to say, I ended up going with MX-5 Parts, as much as I like supporting someone local (the people etc.).

And yet dealers will moan at why there is not demand for parts :

I wonder if D911 have some old stock ;).

Who did fit it? The bodyshop? That's just cheating :P.

Should have told your OPC you only wanted one decal, not two!! They are circa £30 for proper screen printed letters on clear vinyl. Many 'Porsche' specialist buy their OEM parts from Porsche and resell them with mark up. As for decals some supply cheaper die cut vinyl decals which are not as pleasing as the originals.

I can recommend Bristol OPC for great parts dept service and keen pricing.

This does look like an original decal and yes I did cheat and have the body shop fit it, mind you it might have to come off again soon.
