Last job on my engine rebuild is the belts.

I've researched and got several different values for belt tension in lbs, most common seems to be 40lbs on the cambelt, and 27 on the balancer, its an 86 engine, fixed pulley tensioner, not the later spring tensioner.

I have a lbs gauge, a Burroughs, not a clicket (or whatever they're called) can anyone here confirm the tensions?

Cheers.

Pete.

Hi Pete -

Go with what you have got so far - or check on YouTube - there are a few clips on 944 belt tensioning - see under '944 cam belt change'...
