Its unusual because that sort of paint usually fades to grey...

So silver would be original? If thats the case I could take it to an alloy wheel refurb place to dip blast and power coat.

As mentioned , not advisable to powder coat due to magnesium content in this and front belt cover . When I had mine done , I cant remember if it was stove enamelled or 2pac but they did not want to put it in the oven at powder coating tempature.

Yes, spangly single part silver was original.
