Hi all,
anyone replaced these, any tips ? Are they difficult to get off, access looks ackward ? Or is it better to leave alone and get garage to look at ?

Thanks Neal

There are a couple of Spring plates at the end of each pipe holding the connections rigidly to the mounting position. These just pull out and it is then possible to get flared spanners onto the union and undo the connections between the rigid and flexible pipes. A systematic approach is required but quite a satisfying job to complete.

Good luck.

IIRC, it should be the same as the 968 in which case it's fairly straightforward to do but expect to replace a lot if your brake fluid afterwards...

These clips are the trickiest especially if they're rusted in as mine were... They just prize off in an upward direction... There's one at each end of the flexi.

Hi,
thanks for the replies, don't want to round off the fixed pipes nuts. Did you apply heat to the joints ? Hardly seems room for spanner above axle. Fingers crossed here goes.

Thanks Neal

Get some brake pipe spanners. From always rounding them off, I hardly ever do now. A friend of mine used them because he thought his unions were gone on his Triumph ; that was a small fortune I saved him.

No heat needed, just soak in WD or Plus Gas the night before... +1 on the brake pipe spanners, there is just enough room. I bought these and they were invaluable... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BERGEN-7-Pc-Open-Flare-Nut-Spanner-Set-Metric-8-24mm-Brake-Fuel-Pipe-Wrench-1862-/252061253210?hash=item3ab0057e5a

Just remember brake fluid is highly combustible

Seen any pics of burnt out 944 after the clutch hose bursts!!
