feeling mightily chuffed with myself having completed the small task of replacing a beyond knackered engine mount, and also noticing the rather shiny new looking drivers side mount, which on closer inspection of my giant history file, was replaced less than 20k ago - bonus

started celebrating too early though as it took longer to line up the bolt holes on the new mount than the whole rest of the job took

anyway, the task was made slightly easier as I was doing a steering rack swap at the same time. My question is how in the hell do you tighten up the track rod ends without spinning them to death??

tried the following and various combinations - windy gun, jack under the track rod end, pry bar against the knuckle .....

have now officially given up for the evening, all suggestions welcome

Cheers

Brian

Normal method is a jack under the ball joint the two surfaces should grip enough to do it up
