Ok a shameful question regards the rear wiper.

I have an early dash 944 and the wiper was really rusty looking. I purchased some reconditioned arms from Cocacola. They looked nice, but the rear wiper itself was so old and rusty. I bought a Bosch SP20 wiper from ebay and now it wont fit. What am i doing wrong?

The wiper arms, both old and the reconditioned one are straight arms with a single hole through it.
The SP20 wiper has a clip type fitting for a hook type fitment.

The rear arm on my 944 is like the middle item here.

The Bosch wiper came with a clip, looking like it is expecting a hook type arm - I dont want to bodge it on as i wont be able to return it.

Any ideas?

From what I remember my previous 944 had to use one of these on the rear wiper:

I had to find someone doing a rear wiper delete and buy the assembly with the more common J type arm. They only seem to supply wipers for this fitting now as modern cars only use that type.

From memory, only the later small hole in the glass / smaller spindle type mechanisms will take a conventional wiper assembly.

It seems that I will have to buy the £1.99 adaptor from Halfrauds then - Unless someone has a J Hook type arm they are willing to part with?
It just doesn't look right when the wiper is not in line with the arm, imo.

I bought a wiper blade kit from my local OPC. As I recall it was cheaper than a bosch blade kit from Halfords. It went on in seconds in the OPC car park!
