OK peeps, I've discovered that my '86 944 has a rather strange quirk in the electrics - the horn only works if the lights are turned off! Where the heck do I start tracing a fault like this?! Anyone here ever had something like this happen on their car?
I don't really want to have to turn my lights off in order to be able to toot the tooter...

There are two earth points each side of the headlight pods I'd start with a clean up of these first. Also one thing I used to do as a matter of course was reseat the fuses & relays in the electrical crate as they seem to work loose. Un plug, clean & check the horn relay & the relevant fuses as well.
