AFAIK all UK turbo's came with air con. I've never seen one without it. However I've seen very few with it working like mine does!! I had to replace my condenser to make it work then the compressor to stop it leaking when it was running. Contrary to what you may read about changing seals to run R-134a it's not true. You can prime the system with about 10mm of ester oil when emptied and vacced out and it will run happily on the newer gas. Mine has held a full charge for over a year now and is still icey cold.

as Stuart states all Turbo's have A/c...I do recall reading that early examples may have a slightly different type that was full climate control but I haven't investigated if there's any truth in this...others may know better. My A/C is also fully working with new compressor and drier, although I changed all seals in the engine bay for new gas type not every seal was replaced, this I plan to do when taking the dash out for it's leather covering.
However as Stuart said I also have had no leaks after 9 months of use ..btw my car is an 86.

Pete
