yup - behind the glove box - you may have to remove the glove box (easy - a few screws) to get to it...

Sounds like that may well be the issue. I'll get the glovebox out tomorrow. thanks for the advice.

Turns out it wasn't the glovebox at all. It was the plastic cover under the passenger seat. My mrs jumped in and immediately tried to pull the handle that was in my mondeo to move the seat back and pulled that off on one side. Does anyone know what it's called and maybe a part number? Cheers.

Oh my word  How can you have a noise emanating from behind the glove box but is now, in your words, from under the passenger seat?! Actually pulling the motor driven wired cable out is not uncommon...but can easily be refitted...I am bereft now of suggestions to your problem - unless your seat drive motors/switches are the problem. Remove the fuses for the seat motors and see if the problem persists...

I'm deaf in one ear so I can't localise sound. It's a pita. It is definitely the plastic piece at the front of the seat that is connected by 2 screws as I have held it and the rattle stops. Just need part number so I can replace it. There is also a rattle behind the glovebox still but nowhere near as annoying so i can live with that.

I think you are talking about the plastic shroud that goes over the front seat motor? It is shown in the PET Porsche web but without a part number attached to it - I have looked it up previously, as mine are both missing from my car - your best bet is to try a silicon spray around the locating screws, or to pack out the panel with some suitable wadding material, to stiffen it up, like those cotton balls you get from Boots the Chemist. May sound odd...

That's exactly what I meant. The plastic around the locating screw on the right side of the passenger seat one is broken so that side is loose and rattling around. I'll need to replace it or repair it but would much prefer replacement.

There's a part number moulded into it somewhere - check that to make sure you order the correct one!

Thank you very much. I'm so pleased it's not ridiculously expensive.
