Hi all,

Managed to get my car through its mot last week but needed to drop it into my local mechanic to do rear brake pads as the retaining pins were bent at the end.

The mechanic said that the metal flat tensioner between the pins (cross shape) broke on removal and so they didn't refit it. I did 100 miles no problem but I seem to have rather loud chattering, audible up to 50mph with the windows open or closed from that corner until I touch the brakes, so would it be fair to say that I'm now missing that part!?

Rang Porsche today and they said that its sold as part of a kit at £50! Does anyone have one for sale!? And will it solve my problem?

Probably. I have the same issue, will have to bite the bullet and buy a kit eventually.

Does yours sound like someone tapping the hub with a hammer?

It's really starting to irritate me, though it's been fine for 300 miles now I think I'm going to have to sort it. Just object to the feeling of being conned!

if you don't want to get conned find out who made the calipers,

they wont be just for the 944,

for the price of the Pin kits
