Hi Guys, I replaced my rear tailgate struts last week & made sure the struts were fitted the right way around as I know they are sided, boot light works fine & after faffing about a bit last night due to no heated rear window ( loose strut sockets on both struts ) I now have a working rear demister again, however.... ive noticed that the right hand strut top gets warm when the demister is switched on, is this normal ?, im assuming the earth is through the ball joint into the hatch frame ? if so the ball appears to be very clean & free from debris even though common sense tells me there should be some lube on there as its a ball joint ? any help really appreciated, cheers, Tony

Hi ryan I bought them from eBay as genuine struts but can find the listing now, but as I'm on my mobile I can't see my eBay that well, will look on my pc later & let you know.

Hi Ryan, they came from Jasmine Motorsport a Porsche parts supplier, so they are of good quality. still dont know if the bottom of the strut is supposed to get warm though ???

Yeah I have Ryan but it's not in good condition, I have a fully self raising hatch now which I now realise is how it should have been, the old struts are obviously goosed !! Will have yet another check this week to see if I can solve the problem .
