Ok after a small ruckus on another forum I have been researching MAF sensors from Bosch

our cars use a Bosch MAF 0 280 213 017 this is a very expensive part and is prone to contamination especially from over oiled K&N filters

during my efforts to find an alternative I found the following information.

so with a little more research and asking a few questions in other places the numbers starting from 0 280 213 007 all measure the same amount of Air Mass (KG/Hour) the only difference is mountings and connection type

so a replacement for ours would possibly be 0 280 213 007 off a Volvo 940 brand new at £63.00 instead of 0 280 213 017 at £830.00!

this was all kicked off by a guy repairing his with a bit of copper wire when he broke his cleaning it, which worked by the way, he reports much better throttle response with a new wire???

Bosch Short Code for this part is HLM-2-18 this is a list of all other MAF with the same short code

BOSCH 0 280 212 016 Air Mass Sensor
BOSCH 0 280 212 019 Air Mass Sensor
BOSCH 0 280 212 024 Air Mass Sensor
BOSCH 0 280 213 012 Air Mass Sensor this looks a good candidate
BOSCH 0 280 213 017 Air Mass Sensor
BOSCH 0 280 213 021 Air Mass Sensor
BOSCH 0 280 213 025 Air Mass Sensor

just found this

so my research was correct

Good man!

I dont like the words "mark up" as it sounds too much like make up a price.

Wish someone brighter than me could work out how to plumb one into a 944 intake ...

+ me there... but I suspect that upgrading the ECU with an AugTronic board would be the way to do it
