Just having the belts done on the 968 and my specialist has rung to say that the cover behind the cam gear has corroded and the mounts for the front cover have split, so won't hold the dissy cap in place.

So I'm trying to find 944 105 179 08 or 09 (don't know the difference!) I've phoned around a few places with no luck because most want to keep a 968 engine in one piece to sell it. So does anyone know of someone splitting a 968 engine? From Porsche this part is £335!

I've looked out for a 968 block for years, only ones I've seen had a rod sized hole in the side :( .

Similar story with the one I found. Rod knocked hell out out the bottom end and a piston stuck to the head apparently

The blown 968 engines I came across were supercharged, apparently they went well before the rod broke.
