Morning chaps

I'm toying with the idea of swapping my ABS pump as part of the forthcoming autumn refurb programme, but would like to know if it can be done without removing the wing??

My pump is badly corroded and will need replacing soon, and the ABS light is on as soon as I move so the whole system needs a look at, but when I replaced the wings last year I used a sealing mastic which works more like an industrial adhesive so I might struggle to get the wing off without bending it ...

I've done one, with the wing on. What a pigging awful job! Polite words.... Every bolt was seized solid, no room to move & one of the unions had to be cut off.
Got there in the end & had to remake one pipe. Even more swearing when it made no difference & was actually the ABS relay!

If the ABS light comes on then goes off when the ignition is turned, but then comes on again as you move off it is probably a sensor or wiring, not the ECU or pump.

Mine was done with the wing on. Happily paid a specialist £100 labour for the job which included fresh brake fluid. Supplied a working pump myself. In my case it was the pump. No ABS warning light, pump primed at 5mph, just didn't work when needed!

Ahhh ... well, if you could see my pump then you'd know why the wing needs to come off..

Ok, wintertime fun with a stanley blade for me then ..

Cheers
