Hello
assuming you haven't changed the radio since you got the car, then it's likely you have a loose connection.
Remove the radio and you will find that there is a lead that sends a live feed to the automatic antenna, it'll be marked on modern radios, older one's you may need to look up an online guide.
The antenna also requires an earth, it will get this from the coax lead fitting into the chassis of the stereo.
Of course the fault could be with the antenna unit itself.
