Bit confused about the fitting of new fuel lines, Is it possible to replace the full metal pipelines ie. engine compartment to filter with steel braided flexy including unions?

Hi

To refit oem lines rear axle has to be dropped enough to fit.

I had hoses made by pirtek braided type high pressure teflon.

I had rotten fuel lines over the rear offside wheel arch so I cut both lines under the middle of the car (stagger the cuts to enable both fittings to sit correctly) use a pipe cutter.
I then took the remanent pipes to my local pirtek who made them up.
you will end up with compression fittings one end and original the other.
I asked for thirty extra centimeters on each to allow for improved routing of hoses.
Cost for two hoses was a touch over £200.
I also bought a few new pipe clamps from OPC.
regards

Mark

Pirtek have a depot quite close so I'll check then out. I was considering using original at the front and braided over the torsion tube to replace items 6 and 3 on the pet.
Is this what you did Mark?

I only cut into the original pipework to remove corrosion over rear wheels, the rest was sound nil corrosion (inspected the whole length) then as above.
I think if you are buying items 3 and 6 it might make more sense to replace the whole lot oem, especially if the originals are rusty along the whole length.

Regards

Mark

How much of it do you want just the rear parts or all of it?

Just rear, it's the pieces that run over the torsion bar tube. They are the worst and to avoid dropping the tube if at all possible.
Replacing items 3 and 6 as per pet. Will use OEM for rest if necessary. Going to have a closer look tomorrow weather permitting.
