Hi all
I’m working on a 944 s 2.5 16v to keep road legal and do track days.
I will be taking the motor out this week as it has a leak from the rear oil seal, and will have a good clean up at the same time.
Our plan is to put a Super Charger on it; I have had contact with Jim on this forum for some pointers, (big thanks Jim) and have a good starting point
Has anyone on this board actually finished a SC setup on a 944, I have seen threads from 2 to 3 years back but nothing as a finished project
I have seen on YouTube a 944s by lux944, is he on this forum?
I’m looking for info and photos on mounts and setup as this will save us lots of time on fabrication and instillation
We have the inter cooler and turbo pistons if needed,
Any help would be good, and Jim I will talk soon
Thanks
Dave

Not a Porsche but the last 2 or 3 months issues of Practical Performance Car magazine have had a series of fairly detailed articles from a guy installing a s/c on a crossflow.

I think quite a few owners may have had reliability issues with supercharging the 944 or 968. There are a couple of cars around but they tend to be avoided by most buyers. Perhaps this is a perception than reality though.

Would you not consider buying a rotten 944 turbo and swapping stuff over?

Yes, have supercharged my s2. I use it on the track exclusively, been reasonabley reliable except had a couple of head gasket failures. Just dialled back the ignition a little more to reduce detonation, seems ok now.

Cost me around $4,000 AUD in parts, including $2k for the rotrex head unit.

Hi guy's
thanks for your posts, i have been hunting for bits, got intercooler and pipes off 944t, 944s2 oil housing to run oil cooler, Vorteck SC (will be runing the sc at 49,000 rpm as recomended by vorteck), 944t pistons
THINGS I NEED? S2 inletmanifold (as the 44s manifold stops the SC fiting in place) & dump valve
any pointers welcome
D
