Car was well run for 20mins before mot. Engine up to temp ok i knew it was running a little rich.
reading was 6.25 percent. Its an 1986 model no 02 sensor and no cat. my allowance is less than 4.5 percent

promax/lindsey racing stage 2 kit fitted since last mot

Maybe engine coolant temp sensor if so what would part number be and someone said it is the same as bmw e36 ?
Air flow meter maybe ?

any ideas ?
what can i adjust ?

Cheers simon.

Could easily be the afm or the DME temp sensor. I had this issue recently and it was the connections between the loom and MAF (I have a SciVision) that was the issue. Some contact cleaner (DeOxit) resolved it after much head scratching. Do you have an AFR guage? Worth checking it it is a problem across the rev range or just idle/fast idle.

If you don't have an AFR guage please invest in one! A must for even a lightly fettled turbo.

You can adjust the idle mixture at the AFM. Off idle the promax maps will be in control assisted by the DME inputs.

The DME temp sensor is fairly cheap and worth changing. My money would be on an AFM or AFM connector issue.

Hi :)

Just adjust the idle mixture....the mot garage should have offered to do it...its a 10 second job with their gas analyser pipe in the exhaust...if you are anywhere near me (Bournemouth) I will do it for you on my analyser..(free of course)

All the best Brett :)

Yes air flow meter adjustment done the trick.
im in northern ireland were they are government run mot inspection centres. No repairs, adjustments, you have to get out of your car and watch from a waiting area while all test procedures go on and most tests have regulated tolerences so machines decide if you pass or fail.

Cheers guys
