Any thoughts on the best way to pick out the 'Porsche' name on the calipers?? A night off the gin and the loan of the other half's make up tools?

Out of interest where did you get the pipes and hoses from? I want to get some braided hoses for mine and have a feeling the brake lines will need some attention too.

There's a very long thread on the fuel and brake pipes in the 924, 944, 968 section.

Gives you even more to read up on

Hi there,

I got the fuel pipes from Pirtec, they are a national company , look them up on the internet and find a local dealer.

The copper brake pipes and fittings are from Automec, tell them the length and the fittings ( the Porsche are all M10 x 1) and they will make them all up for you, i went for the brass fittings as they will not rust,i also used there silicone brake fluid, it's purple ! and look great . automec do a complete kit for the 944, but as i had replaced most of the front 2 years earlier i just ordered the ones i wanted.

The flexi braided brake pipes are Goodridge, i delt with them direct as i had the front made special to fit the M030 struts. I think they do an off the shelf kit for the standard 944.

TBH if you need more than a couple, it's worth buying a flaring tool. Doing it on the car is much easier than trying to thread a ready made pipe into a space. And I always find the ready made ones are 2 inches too short or too long.

yes you are not wrong, mine were almost always too long , but then i added an inch to all the pipes i measured to make sure they would be long enough, it's not too difficult to loose an inch here and there.
(unfortunately the same can't be said for around the stomach area) :)
