Just a short post to say Hi..

Im Tara and live near the Thruxton Circuit.... :D

I am now the proud owner of my first Porsche - Boxster S, 2001....I am a bit of a Nurburg ring fan and my new machine will be roaring down the autobahns towards the Nordschleife this summer... :D :D

I have progressed from a 100bhp classic mini (stage 4 race tuned engine) and a Mazda MX5 up to the Boxster, which I hope will afford me as much fun as the latter......

I hope to enjoy some track days and driving days out / shows etc with my new group of friends (you guys...!!!)

I am picking the mean machine up tomorrow ...sadly the weather is absolutely perfect for top down cruising but no roof down as it has a hardtop so will have to have that fixed in the appropriate manner ...sadly...

Look forward to talking you guys and gals more soon...

I will post a piccy if anyone is interested...??? (sorry should add..I meant of the car..... :D )

Regards

Tara
:D

Hi an welcome from a fellow Boxster owner.

My hardtop is securely fixed too...........waiting for the weather to pick up a bit. Also doing a track day that requires helmets for soft tops, so if I keep it on, I won't need a helmet :)

I hope you enjoy your purchase, and yes - it will give you plenty of fun.

Pics would be great, and is mandatory for joining this site.

Enjoy the ride.

Thanks Guys for the Hellos....and funny replies...(relating to pictures..!!)

Well there has been a change in arrangements....it needed CV Boots so wont be picking her up till Friday now...and the weather is due to change by then...but hey never mind... :( so much for the garage having done a full inspection....!!!

Its metallic Basalt black....Ive always loved black...!!

Hopefully pictures are loaded ...!! these are from the garage.....i will have my plate on there soon...T444RA X so you will know if it is me if you see the car about....

I work in Reigate so will be out on the roads quite a bit..although on the whole do use my motorway basher for commuting....VW Passat estate now with 350,000 miles (oringinal engine and no rebuilds) on the clock and no problems ...looks and runs in A1 condition....!!!

Roll on Friday

Hi and welcome. Car looks great and I'm sure the weather will pick up soon so you'll be doing loads of miles in the Porsche instead of the VW.

:D :D :D :D :D Difficult to show on here how happy I am with the machine...!! she is superb....!!!..

The only downers so far......flat nearside rear tyre.... :( I think i tmight be a slooooow puncture as I put air in it yesterday as soon as I noticed the tyre looked flat and it still looks okay today...!!
Fuel consumption...... its a bit disconcerting watching the fuel just go down down down and down..... :P but hey these cars arent for penny pinchers are they..!!!! :D

Picked the car up from just off jnc 29 M25 and left at 3ish on Friday to get home and joy of joys sat in traffic for the next 7 hours arriving home at 10pm having only reached a max of 50 mph for about 30 seconds the whole way.....

The M25 was a car park followed by the M3 carpark followed by the A303 car park (this was caused by them reducing it down to one lane to carry out barrier repairs...!!) oh and it was pouring with rain....and the ipod connector fitted in the car wasnt for ipods at all but some other random hardware....sooooo no tunes off the iphone on the way back... :( really must learn to check the finer details when purchasing .....

One positive if you can call it that.....I was talking on the phone as my bluetooth handsfree wasnt on me and I got got by an unmarked police car.....we were all doing 20mph in the roadworks on the M25 and he popped his blues on...I of course spotted him but pretended I hadnt...lobbing the phone on to the floor carrying on like I rest my hand there all the time...then he swirved side to side behind me a few times - I still ignored him (secretly hoping he would go away)...and then he was alongside me beeping his horn...so i looked and he gave me a mouthful and then sped off through the traffic jam...I think the fact that there was no where to pull me probably saved me....phew.....that was almost an expensive lesson learnt....handsfree now with me at all times!!!!!

Now you've got the Boxster I'm sure you'll find some back roads you can take instead of the main M and A roads. They'll be much more fun to drive on
