Hi my name is Tim pretty new to the whole porsche world. Brought a 924 few months ago and quickly got bored and moved to a 944. Brought a Cat B 944 and a D reg one thinking use the parts to make a nice car. However ended up getting shafted a little and after a good inspection found the car to be past it. So decided to break the pair and save enough money to buy a reasonable car as a daily - project. I have since brought a Black 87 944 Lux. which is a reasonable base for me to make a nice car of it. |

Hi Tim. Welcome to the forum. Where abouts are you? You may be able to pop along to a TIPEC meeting for some advice, if you need it. If not, there's plenty here on the forum. Good luck in the restoration project. |

lol yeah near canterbury in kent. I will be interested in attending a club night/meet as long as it doesn't clash with the VW events which I attend. Been into VW's for years hence the long term love of porsches. 911 eventually lol. need to do plenty more overtime before that day arrives. |

We like our dubs, had a MK1 Rivage as my weekend car for several years. |

You've obviously got good taste in cars Tim! I still miss my old Mk2 GTI. I kept it for 11 years and it was a hard act to follow. |

I love the Golf the noise it makes is something else, but its just to expensive to run all the time. Plus you can't drive it sensibly lol. Sean I see you have a MK5 R32 they are a very nice car as well. Is it a DSG model? |

I'm pleased the car is fully funded, I average less than 20 mpg. I am getting nowhere near the 20,000 mile variable service intervals as well. 10,000 is the best I have acheived so far ![]() Only had 1 full set of tyres in 30,000 so being quite economical on that front. ![]() |

Very nice! its ok for some, any jobs going lol. A mate was running low 14 second quaters in his R32 DSG. Those long life service's are rubbish who would run the same oil for 20000 miles!? Don't care what anyone says oil needs to be changed at no more than 6000 miles! well thats what i think anyway. the golf gets fresh oil every 3000 miles! |

Quote: You didn't confess the engine rebuild as well Sean! ![]() It's going to be interesting to see if I have any more problems with the engine. It took 3 strip downs to solve the issues last time and they weren't sure which components solved the problem. |
