Hi,

I'm Carol from Durham.

My Boxster S Sport was my 50th birthday present to me.

I agonised long and hard - being a girl (oops a bit sexist - apologies to other ladies) with neither skills nor interest in tinkering under bonnets, nor desire to be landed with big bills for servicing and repairs - my head said a sensible modern BMW Z4 (hope that's not classed as swearing on here) but sometimes you've just got to take a chance.

I've already had my first "oh my God, what have I done" moment blowing a rear tyre but a couple of the guys on here were kind enough to calm the new owner nerves.

Is there anyone local with a Boxster willing to share their experiences of ownership - good or bad - any tips or dealers to use or avoid or anyone just wanting to talk cars with a newbie.

I'm going to join the club now and hope to meet a few of you online if not in the flesh.

Welcome. My only real Boxster advice (as an ex owner of a 986): let her warm up properly before using the engine hard. After that, just enjoy your car!
