A new member and a long distance one as well. I've beaten on a lot of metal over the years...American from the fifties and sixities, then shifted into Italian and that became my focus until 1994 when a 964 C2 shamed my tame 1980 308 GTSi. Three weeks later I was the owner of a 93 RS America. Business went up and down...the RS got sold...and business went back and I found a rare example of a 95 993. A couple of years later I sold the car because I was just driving too fast on pubic roads. Fifteen years of nice but pedestrian VW Golfs and when I turned 72 I told myself that if I wanted to go alittle crazy now was the time to do it. A search of current Porsche prices made it quickly obvious for a retired person that the 996 was the bargain of the century. So on September 26th this moved into my garage. 2003 C2...39000 miles. It is my daily driver. |
