Hello All

I joined Tipec in 2006, when I bought my 993, but was living in Portugal and so did not get to attend any Tipec meetings. I've been living in France for a few years now, and have just bought a 968, as the 993 is on a limited mileage diet!

The 968 is a manual coupe in blue violet with RUF rims. I flew to Brussels parted with my cash, and then drove the 951 kms home on Thursday. The car behaved brilliantly. And, mainly cruising at a 130 kph, I used 82 litres of 98 RON, to cover 951 kms, which converts to about 32 mpg. I might have gone over the unrestricted 90kph during the last 60 kms on familiar country roads.

I have few upgrades, improvements and deletes in the pipeline, but for now I plan to enjoy some spirited driving on mostly empty roads before the winter. Might need to replace discs/pads as there is some vibration when braking at firmly at motorway speeds. Suspect warped front discs (had this on the 993 a few years back). Will be at Paul Ricard for the classic racing weekend October 4/5.

Pictures to follow very soon. (When I have removed the thin layer of insects from the front)

C'est tout

Hi Bob

The Porsche scene in France is very good, we had a nice a day out with the Brittany Region a few years ago.

It would be good to see the pictures of your 968.

Bong Sure RoBear ..

I am presently in France en vacances with ma femme ... Finished the resto on the 944 on Sunday night and was on the ferry Monday morning.

Scared the merde out of Madame going down through the Verdon Gorge this morning, having arrived here via Reims, and Annecy.

Tomorrow de bonne heure we are off to a barn in Condom (ooerr Mrs.), thence to a treehouse in Begerac and finalement to Gay Paree for the tits'n'tassels show at the Moulin Rouge.

Au Reservoir

Greg
