Good afternoon all. Another Lurker comes in form the cold. I've been looking at 944s for a while now and I did what you shouldn't and bought one blind off Ebay!!!!!! Attachment: 20140613_123301_resized_2.jpg [ 252.97 KiB | Viewed 4535 times ] I knew it would need sills etc and it has been standing for a couple of years but its a lovely white S2 with a good white leather interior. The sills where worse than expected though so instead of tackling it myself I've given it to a local 944 specialist to cut out the old and weld in new plate. Should get it home next week ready to start on the mechanicals so I will be asking lots of questions. Plan is to try to get it through an MOT and get it on the road and then we can start to sort the details out.

Welcome to the Forum Was in Bourne myself last Sat, (via Stamford getting bodywork quotes) which Local 944 specialist would that be for your Sills then ? Best check when the Belts were last done, if its been stood a while and they are 4 years old then that would be a good one to start with before running the motor! Clive |

Got the car back looking a lot better!!! I used Elliot at Porkaparts in Bourne, very good work. Good to hear of someone over in this area, do you go to any meets locally? Need to get it through the MOT now so plan is to- Brakes all four corners need attention hopefully a good clean up should be enough for now. Lower wishbones, one has a split rubber so I need to change it. How good are the proflex type bushes??? do they make a big difference and does the raod drive improve, I'd be interested to know. Tyres and wheels - only one of the fronts looks good at the moment, shopping around for best options to get it on road. Engine as a minimum I am changing the cam and balance belt and the cam chain tensioner oil and filters. Quite a long list and the budget is disappearing fast!! |

There are a few of us around the Lincoln area but as individual members really, no local meets. If you are interested in Tipec meetings I have frequented the SYNN (was SYND) region meetings since 2004, a very friendly group with plenty of interesting outings organised. The web site is :- http://www.synd.org.uk/ should you be interested. Meetings 1st Sunday in the Month 7pm at Ye Olde Bell Hotel, Barnby Moor, Retford, Notts, DN22 8QS A big hike for you but some of the outings might be interesting, also earlier this year there were 20+ 944's met up at Rutland water from a post on this forum. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=17187&hilit=Rutland&start=15#p122170 Clive (North Hykeham) |
