I say interloper as I currently drive a C63 AMG, I am however in the process of searching for a 997 turbo.

My name is Jason and I am *cough* 43 *cough* and I live in the new forest.

About a year ago I was undecided on what car I should get, a C63, a GTR or a 911. The GTR lost almost immediately as I could not deal with the unsophisticated ride and frankly terrible interior. So realistically this was a 2 horse race, the C63 won only by virtue of the fact I could not find a turbo to test drive in the price range I was looking at, but it also had THAT engine. It'll be the last of its kind, due to the emissions rules we have now.

Right now, there is the Porsche itch (excuse the cliché) that needs a scratchin'. I have quite a specific spec I am looking for and hopefully I have a respected independent dealer looking for one. I have not completely ruled out a nice 996 turbo, as I have been out in one and I liked it a lot.

I have done a great deal of research, but I am sure I will have questions.

Welcome to the forum. Good luck with your search, there's plently of specialist dealers around and i'm sure one will have what you are looking for soon.

Only advice I can give is don't rush your search and be prepared to travel to find the right one.
Although sometimes it could be just around the corner

Sound advice from Jason G. take your time and you will find the Porsche that is right for you - you are very welcome to come along to our next club night at the Angel on 6th May have a chat with our members who own a wide variety of Porsche cars and I am sure will be only too pleased to offer help and advice.
