Hi Y'all from Hemel Hempstead, Herts.

Many will already know me and the car D944 from events last year when I was a new owner of a Porsche (surprisingly for the first time!) and became a member of "the other organisation"

So with some trepidation the covers came off today, 6m tax, and the tentative pull on the starter.... The car had been put away last November when the tax last ran out. Then with the renewal of the car Insurance in January it was stated that the agreed value would only be met if a current MOT was in place - even tho' SORN'd and parked up????

So I quickly arranged for an MoT at a local garage for convenience and the car was untypically a pig! Hard to start, rough tick over, little or no torque between 2-4000 rpm (almost going backwards - ?) and these are now stated on the MoT as advisories!! But it did pass as expected. Insurance company satisfied. So I have been living all winter with the fear of a real set of problems when next starting her in the Spring.

Today was the day and the cover came off, fluid levels checked, tyres deflated, and start.....
Like a DREAM! a few shrieks from the alternator drive belt while warming up but apart from that - what was I worrying about?:mrgreen:
Took her for the first real spin in 2014 and golden - torquey, turbo twisting solid fun.....

Welcome, Frank. Good to see you posting here and it was fun catching up with you again at the Novello last night.

As for the 944's over-winter issues... well as I said, they get grumpy if they're not being used.
