Just thought I'd sign up for the forum. I filled in the application form at the NEC classic last Friday, after having a great chat with Chris from Centre of Gravity about his track car and my piece of plastic.

my latest purchase is Covin 911 930 replica built on a 1967 beetle 1500 donor, which has been off the road of at least 5-7 years.

The plan is to convert it to a pre-impact bumper 911, with narrow arches at the front and ST arches at the back. 5.5x15 fuchs at the front and 8x15 fuchs at the back.

the overall 'look' will be influenced by early 911's, 365's, outlaws and touch of general hotrod. it won't be a track car - more of a cruiser as i have 150bhp classic mini for track work.

cheers
Matt

its looks worse than it is, bearing in mind its a fibreglass shell (no rust) on a very good beetle floorplan. the engine is a fuel injected 1.6 ford cvh running 105bhp. the car weighs about 750kg. i'm just running the fuel lines from the tank this week to get the fuel pumps and swirl pot rigged up, then its fitting dropped front spindles and new 5x130 pcd discs to get these on....

i have 8x15's for the back running 225/60/15's

the end result will probably be like this..... so yes, not for the purists....

Hope you don't narrow the beam as in pics above, I like wheels to fill the arches not needing torch to find them
