Hello All,

Joined the Porsche Owner World last week and this Forum today 8)

Purchased a 2004 996.2 GT3 Comfort Spec that I am using as a Daily Driver, and loving it :D Needs a bit of work as I am reverting it to Factory Spec i.e. removing SatNav & iPod peripherals, wheels back to original Silver etc.

Previous cars are:

1964 VW Type 1
1969 Porsche 912
2007 VW Golf R32

Look forward to both gleening sage advice and contributing when possible!

Matt

Hi Jim, I'm Out West at Baron's Court W14..

TN11 is a bit of a stretch for me this Friday as off to the South Coast for the Weekend, but thanks for the invite! Might take a RainCheck until the December 6th Meet if the offer extends? :)

Offer extended anytime, the North London group would be another option for you as well.

I have sourced a Becker CDR23 HeadUnit which will be fitted next week 8) I have been informed that these do not require a Code for activation..?

Whilst that is being installed, I am having the iPod & HandsFree wiring removed and also a rather dodgy piece of kit; Speed Camera/Radar Sensors  Not sure if these are illegal and don't much care either way.. They look ugly and definitely wouldn't help my case should an Officer of the Law wish to discuss my Driving Style..

No, I purchased it from Targa Florio near Chichester..

I thought the Black Wheels made it look a bit.. cheap.. The titanium colour is as per the new 991 GT3 8)

So, I RTFM last night and have a much better understanding of a) the Dashboard Christmas Lights and b) DIY jobs I can do on the car e.g. changing light bulbs, headlight beam direction and checking fluids! Quite an invaluable read, kinda takes away the fear factor, but I guess that goes for anything that was once unknown :)

Anyways, I noticed the nearside Taillight Bulb wasn't working as I checked out the car's reflection in a Putney shop window yesterday morning  , so that job will get done today 8)
