Morning All, Im a newbie from Leicestershire. Came across this site when googling some parts for my car, and decided to join up. I work in the motor trade & via a very good client we obtained a 1983 Porsche 924 LUX last year, which is very much a project car. Its been sat in a garage unmoved for the last 8 years or so. Its spent alot of the winter sat in the yard waiting for us to get around to it. But due to work commitments and personal issues nothing has really happend to it. SO.. to keep it from rusting away, i cleared a little space in my showroom where she takes pride of place albeit half valeted. Anyway.. thats the back story.. and the 924 really gave me the Porsche bug, i've grown up around classic and exotic cars, and ive been hankering after a classic for a few years now.. now im 24.. insurance is getting cheaper and nearly bought Midgets, MGB's, Spitfire etc. An opportunity arose to purchase a Porsche.. which at the time seemed a good deal. I think i may of jumped in and bought with my heart instead of my head.. who knows Anyway im now the owner of an early 1982 Porsche 944 LUX in white. Ive driven it a few times and it seems pretty soild, I've not had a chance to get it in the air and have a good poke around, MOT expires next month so I'll get it in for a pre MOT. Already started making a list of jobs. Bodywork is very tidy, however there are a couple of paint blisters/chips on the sills, and a little rust on the inner wheel arch, but having a bodyshop should make this a rather inexpensive fix. Anyways enough chit chat.. heres some pics of the 924 & 944 |

I helped him out and he told me he wanted his garage space back and if I could take it away I could have it.. Needs a complete service, belt change, fuel tank emptying, tyres, brakes, sunroof seals, drivers seat (impossible to find) but for a car that owes nothing you can't really complain... Except giving me the wants and persuading me to buy a 944 haha Does anybody know where I can get a windscreen for a 944? Mines starting to de laminate in the corners. I'm guessing they are expensive? Or is it a second hand jobby? |

Just had my 944 windscreen replaced at £210 inc vat. but the fixing clips and surrounds cost another £165 from Porsche-apart.It all depends whether the existing clips can be re-used. ![]() |
