Hi!
I have just bought my first Porsche, a beautiful 1987 944 (non turbo). I must admit I am enjoying buying and using some of the cars I admired while I was working, bringing up the kids etc., now I'm retired I am just enjoying the cars. My first 'classic' was a Reliant Scimitar which is proving to be a disaster area as it is so unreliable, one minute it starts, the next it doesn't, then it runs and dies, you get the picture. Then I bought a Lotus Esprit Turbo. Stunning motor to look at and drive but so impractical! So wide you can't park it just anywhere with no carrying capacity. So now I have the beautiful, powerful, practical Porsche. Only one problem (so far) the ABS light came on as I was driving it home after buying it, was intermittent, now is on solid!

We need pictures

I know I'm being dense but how DO I put pictures on the site, particularly the little one in the box on the left hand side? I've looked in FAQs and it wasn't a lot of help.

Yes I do have some pictures and, I know I'm being dense, but how do I up load them? I've checked the FAQs but not much use. I wanted to put one where you have the picture of your 911 but can't find out how to do that either!

You can find the avatar upload by clicking on the user control panel (top right) then click on profile. Your picture will have to be small 80x80 pixels from memory.

To load pictures into the post in the reply box there is a browse box near the bottom. Then click add file, your pictures need to 800x600 pixels.

Just about to write to you and Andy to say a sincere 'thank you' for a very enjoyable (if somewhat cramped!) meeting but you beat me to it! Thanks for all the information about the various garages and suppliers. I'll be sure and let you know how I get on with the ABS problem.

So good to see everyone again last night, and the two new members. Great night, but I do need to brush up on my Porsche general knowledge for the quizzes.

Lee - having just read the minutes of last years AGM I note that there's the suggestion that regions should share their quizzes. I'm really not precious about ours, but do think that they are best kept to ourselves 'cause they really aren't that good. Last month's 'loosely motor-sport related quotes quiz' was somewhat begrudgingly endured by our membership. I daren't inflict it nationally!
