8) I have just started to look into acquisition of a 924 turbo -- saw one interesting car on Amethyst Sports Cars site -- a carrera gt lookalike --

anyone got any experience or comments to make about this one

It certainly interests me but I am 200 m away so would appreciate anyone closer giving me any advice/ info

Thanks all

Hi Frank. 924t will be a bit different from your Skyline you just had. You're going opposite direction from what I did (see signature) Great cars though with pop up lights, how cool is that  Talk to Jon at Jmg garage on here, he has some lovely cars going at moment.

Ha Ha You can't go anywhere these days without being spotted.
So any particular reason on looking at a 924? Something you've always wanted?

Well I have a bucket list -- and amongst many items decent powerful cars are on the list -- the fabulous Skyline GTR R32 was first and I have had a go with a good one as you may know Andy.

After the R32 I got to thinking that I had always revered the might Porsche, have driven 911 at Thruxton which was awesome, and always thought they would be out of reach. Until I saw an ad for one which made me realise if I was careful in my selection I might get a classic Porsche within my meagre budget.

Hence the reference to Amethyst cars offering - anyone got any comments on this 924 T gt carrera lookalike?

Think you should ask if the engine has been upgraded to Carrera spec as it doesn't mention anything about that. If it hasn't then thats strong money for a 924 with a bodykit. Not a fan of the Carrera look personally, the 944 turbo was always a smoother style imo.
Have a drive of some different types as they vary quite a lot. Someone from your local area should be along soon to greet and advise on local club nights dates.

There clearly high prices. £4700 for a lux that's s2 money. £8k seems quite high

Yes I ascertained the bhp is 175 - so a basic 924 t with a body kit + odd bits --

as you say seems kinda high price - have to see if seller reduces a lot more !

Don't you love this buying and selling game..........

Hello, I would have offered but sadly I had an accident in mine last year, so it is off road until it's fixed, which should be sometime 2013 depending on the weather. However, I guarantee you, you would have liked it. :0)

Franks was all tuned up. Mine is completely standard as I prefer the classic side and its still fast enough for me and the noise is intoxicating even stood still.
